AOP-HiddenMetrics: Separation, Extensibility and Adaptability in SW Measurement

By: Walter Cazzola, Alessandro Marchetto, Fondazione Bruno Kessler

Abstract

This paper presents an approach to dynamic software measurements based on aspect-oriented programming and the corresponding support framework named AOP-HiddenMetrics. Differently to what happens with more traditional approaches based on code instrumentation or ad hoc support by the run-time environment, this approach makes the measurement process highly customizable and easy to use reducing its intrusiveness and the dependency from the code knowledge.
