On Challenges for Information Management Technology
By: Won Kim
Abstract
Information explosion does not mean simply that there is just too much information. It manifests itself in two different ways: accessibility problem and relevance problem. Often, despite the fact that lots of information is stored in computers, it is very difficult or even impossible for computers to access them. Further, even when it is possible for computers to access all the information, a lot of it is not really what the people accessing them need.
