Dear Readers,

We continue the year, in this second issue, once again with six columns including a Guest Column from our publisher Bertrand Meyer and a column from your Editor. Dave Thomas has contributed his first column in awhile and he is heartily welcomed back. John McGregor, Mahesh Dodani and Douglas Lyon have continued to grace our pages with their work.

As usual we have five feature-length papers in this issue.  Two deal with specialized aspects of UML one with object-oriented databases, one with web security and one with viewpoint-oriented models.
