I greatly appreciate the submissions of the three columnists who have interrupted their vacations or busy travel schedules to contribute columns for this issue. They include Dave Thomas, Doug Lyon and Won Kim. I think you will enjoy their contributions. As an occasional columnist myself, I know how time consuming it is to write a column and meet a summer deadline. I look forward to our other columnists rejoining the team in future issues.

Our five feature-length peer-reviewed papers span a diversity of current topics of interest including AOP, C# Iterator blocks, concurrent and sequential Java code, design by contract for game development and scaling object space on the internet.
