This issue contains columns dealing with Service-Oriented Architectures, XML, UML, classification of generic classes, threading systems and domain-based approaches to analysis. I thank our six columnists Dave Thomas, Anthony Simons, Won Kim, Douglas Lyon, John McGregor and Conrad Bock for their work.
