It's a Small World — Globalization

By: John McGregor

Abstract

Globalization is often spoken of as a strategy. It is too late for that. A strategy is something you select for the advantage it gives you over the competition. Globalization is a necessity. It is an evolutionary path the world has been following for some time. Information technologies did not cause this evolution to happen but they do faciliate it. The fact that there are still many significant differences with respect to access to, and adoption of, technology among the peoples of the world, institutions of the world, and countries makes it a bumpy path. The important question now is what strategies can we apply in a globalized world?
